- LCD Flex/Data/Video Cable

I needed to replace the video cable on my laptop's LCD screen which is
damaged causing the image to be distorted. I was wondering though, if the
cables vary according to the resolution of the LCD? If anyone knows, please
let me know. Thanks.

Generally, yes. You need the exact part number, and these cables are
always custom to the laptop mfgr. They can be outrageously expensive (I
needed one for a compaq and it was $160). best source is a broken
laptop of the same model on E-Bay.
