LCD screen greenish, blueish ghosting problem?
Posted by bobyu6@gmail.com on October 5th, 2007

I have Toshiba P30-MH1.

About 1 year ago, the LCD display began to have problems. Suddenly
everything on the screen would have a right blue greenish streaks to
the right.

So for example, the white section would remain white, but all the
black fonts would have pixelated blue, greenish streaks going to the
right.

It stays there and sometimes it comes back ok. Sometimes I wiggle the
screen and then it gets ok.

Friend told me that the connection between the LCD and the main body
of the laptop is loose.

If anybody else had a similar problem and solved it, I would like to
know. Thank you!

The effect is caused by bad connections in the connecting lead. Most
probably the screens of the wires in the connectors. Try a new (or at least
different) lead. The cause is that when the screens are open circuit the
conductors cease to work like a matched transmission line and the signal
tends to 'drag' through the wire. The on screen result is coloured streaks
dragging to the right of the displayed graphics.
