- locating bios battery on the new Lenovo laptops???
- Posted by Joseph Fenn on April 14th, 2006
I am wondering how and where to get to the bios battery cell
on my Lenovo laptop. Wish I had a book on this dam thing.
I cant see any easily accessable slideing door under which
to access the dam thing if it goes dead in about 5 years.
I also see a strange slot if I push on it it opens like
louvers and has a bunch of receptacles for something or other
on the center area of the bottom of the machine. Cant imagine
what thats for. No pcm slot available either on this thing.

What model do you have?
The slot on the bottom is most likely the docking station connector - but
that's not for sure until the model number is known.
You can get hardware maintenance manuals from the website: either
www.ibm.com or www.lenovo.com will work - type the model/type number in the
search box - then go to the support links (the first link for the specified
model *usually* works) ghen user's guides and manuals, then choose the
wanted manual.
Hope this helps.

Why do you want to _buy_ something that is a free download?
Just go to the Lenovo site, go to "Support and Downloads", either plug in
the model number or select from the drop-down lists, and you'll find that
there are several different manuals available for download.

If you could give me the url for lenovo maybe I can at least

The first thing to try when someone gives you a company name is to put
"http://www." in front of it and ".com" behind it. That works for Lenovo.
<http://www.ibm.com> will get you there too but it's a longer path.
