- new Toshiba owner needs help
- Posted by tommynospam@yahoo.com on May 24th, 2005
Just bought an A75-S2112 and like it except for a few things.
When I turn off the firewall and virus protection alerts, when I boot
they always turn back on. Anyone know how to turn these off
permanently?
When I delete some icons on my desktops namely Notebook Maximizer,
User's Guide and yahoo! messenger, again, when I reboot they magically
reappear. What's going on with this and how do I delete these
permanently?

go to www.mlin.net and download the startup control. It then appears as a
control panel applet and shows all the places where things that run at
startup are located (startup menu and several places in the registry).
Also some things are started as services, so you may to right clic in my
computer, go to manage, services and check those out.
Just be careful if you disable services because a lot of them are important
for your system to run properly.
