I would like to if there any deleterious effects if you disconnect the
powerpack from the laptop [switching to battery power] while it is in
Windows? I tried it myself and there is a fraction of a second glitch while
doing this. Thanks and I am sorry this is a very basic question.

If your display settings (brightness) are the same for battery and adapter
use, you probably won't even notice the change from adapter to battery and
vice-versa.

Normally there are no issues with doing that.
