I have asked previously about what was needed to get two notebooks to
share files wirelessly. Thanks again everyone for your help. The
situation has changed a little as follows: Both notebooks now have
installed Mini PCI Wireless 802.11a/b/54g WiFi cards. Is this now
sufficient?

Also, I am thinking of getting an ADSL router. I don't as yet have a
broadband connection but will update to this in the future. I have this
newly released Netcomm NB9W in mind that I can get with a fair discount:

if this device will suffice for wirelessly networking the home (I have
another desktop PC downstairs). If anyone is interested, there is a

question, with this device (or without) is it possible to share a
dial-up connection wirelessly?

It appears that the NB9W has everything you need to set up a wireless
network in your house. But a very costly device! Won't your broadband
supplier provide you with a DSL modem? If so, you can get a simple
wireless router for a lot less money.

Yes, you can use dial-up with a wireless network. You need a serial
port on the router/NB9W where you attach a modem. The NB9W has a PSTN
connection but I can't tell if it works on demand or just as a backup
for DSL failure.
