- No sound under Win2k on Toshiba Satellite?
- Posted by Mike Thaxton on August 6th, 2004
I hope someone can help or at least has had a similar problem.
The sound on my Toshiba Satellite A45-S1202 intermittently disappears.
It appears to pretty reliably disappear on every restart, whereas if I
shut down and start up manually it'll have sound.
From the research I've done, sound problems on Toshiba Satellites seem
pretty common, and there's even a hotfix for the issue on Toshiba's
site. Problem is, it's for WinXP and I'm running Win2k on this
machine. The hotfix won't work for Win2k. Installed the current driver
for the soundcard and all the updates that seemed relevant on the
Toshiba site. Any suggestions out there?
Thanks!
