To get the Display Properties menu, just right click on any
empty patch of desktop and select / Properties. The Settings
panel shows you what is currently available, so you can adjust
screen size so everything shows up OK. You should then
identify the video card (display device) in this laptop, and go
to the manufacturer's web site in case updated software is available.

Many laptop dispaly drivers allow you to set screen sizes larger than the
native screen resolution. When you do this the screen becomes a moveable
window over the set size, usually scrolling as the mouse hits the edge. If
this is the case, simply set the screen size to equal the native screen
resolution.

If you're using a mouse, hold down CTRL and adjust text size on the web
pages with the scroll wheel. The scroll function on a laptop touchpad should
work as well.
