- Power connector on HP Pavilion 1175 laptop...

I have an increasingly infuriating problem with my HP Pavilion 1175
laptop....
Over time, the AC power connector in the back of the unit has become
loose, such that I usually have to tweak and wiggle the power cord to
keep the thing plugged in. I'm suspecting I'll need to resolder the
connection on the board, but thought I'd ask if anyone has had similar
experiences or suggestions on the problem...
Thanks,
David

Hey David,
This is a problem that both HP and Compaq have on all their laptops. It
really sucks big time! When Compaq/HP refused to listen to my situation
with 2 of their laptops I just through in the towel and got a Dell. Now
that's a class act my friend. Just give it up on repairing your AC input
jack. If you're lucky enough to do it yourself you have nothing to loose.
But if you take it in you're looking at 250 to 500 bucks with NO GAURANTEE
period. I decided to do it right. I considered Compaqs attitude and went
with a Dell. Thanks Compaq, I never would have done it if it hadn't been
for you.
