- Power inverter - ???

The output rating on my laptop's AC adapter reads 20v, 60w. Would
something as simple as the Vector Pocket Power inverter be likely to
work ok?

Yes, with a caveat. The inverter must be one that is on and delivering all
the time. Some laptop power supplies won't start the autostart type units.
Also, some laptop power supplies simply won't work with inverter power
(Square wave, or quasi-square wave) output.
