I own a T40 Thinkpad running Windows XP Pro with a Matshita UJDA745
CDRW/DVD drive. The driver is 5.1.2535.0 and the driver date is
7/1/01.
I love the laptop but I the UJDA745 never seems to work correctly.
Often what happens is I'll put in an audio CD or DVD or CD-Rom that
should autostart on its own but nothing happens. The system hangs, or
it just doesnt realize that there is a disc in there. When I click on
"my computer" to view the contents of that drive I get the hourglass
and it says "not responding". I really don't know what to do since
I'm not sure of the source of the problem. This is really annoying
me. After using the Task Manager to end whatever program is not
responding then most of the icons on my desktop dissapear. After some
more fiddling around with the laptop the icons come back and then its
ready to play the disc like there was no previous problem.
Does anyone else experience this same problem? Any advice would be
appreciated. Thanks.
