- Question: Enabling Power Schemes in Windows XP
- Posted by Mark & Mary Ann Weiss on July 3rd, 2003
How do I enable power saving schemes on my Sony GRX560 laptop? Something
happened recently that System Restore cannot seem to fix... I have no Power
Schemes in the Power Option Properties menu and my laptop won't shut down or
standby when left unattended now. I've restored as far back as three restore
points, but still have no schemes. I figure XP disabled it for a technical
problem. Where is the config menu to enable this again>? I can't add and
save new schemes until I enable.

I don't have your system specs, so some of these might not apply. Also,
check that there are no problem devices of any type in device manager.
