Questions concerning Dell M90
Posted by Ulrich Kraft on March 7th, 2007

Hi there,

before buying a Dell Precision M90, I would like to know some owner
opinions concerning the quality of the screen (especially the one with
WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution).

Brightness, Colours, etc....

Regards,
Ulrich

Ulrich,
I'm using XPS 1710 with the same LDC panel and it's pretty good. It is
pretty bright, but not Sony-bright. I calibrate my screen using Spider
PRO and it calibrates perfectly, so you shouldn't have problems with
that.
Everybody in my department has either XPS or M90 with different
screens, and I'd say all of them are very good.
With that said, I wish I got lower res. screen. I'm using mine mostly
for programming, and at that resolution text is VERY small (I know I
can change font DPI, but that makes web design a nightmare...) I
guess that's subjective, and it might be perfect for you.

In programs like Visual Studio and Photoshop though this resolution is
great, since menus and panels take very little real estate.

I just ordered M65 for my own use two days ago (should be here
tomorrow) and I went with WXGA on that one.

BTW, if you plan to use yours for CAD, I think you'll love it. My
project manager uses his with Inventor, and at that resolution it's a
lot of fun, with a lot of real estate.

Hope this helps.
