thanks for your responses. The reason I was asking is that it turns out that
the brand new Dell Inspiron 8500 wide aspect wuxga displays (15,4") show a
massive screen burn after leaving a window open for a couple of hours. Can
you believe it? It'd doesn't go away after leaving the machine switched off
for some days. This is a serious issue, and it turns out that it _only_
occurs with Samsung displays, not with Sharp displays. So I tried to figure
out which one I got. For obvious reasons, with a brand new laptop that
shipped with a fault, I do not want to disassemble the screen. Just wanted
to confirm that it was a Samsung display. If you are interested in the
