Well, a little story about the customer service from Sony. They didn't read
my question - it was a simple one line and just gave me the boiler plate
standard reply without answer my question:

installation, configuration, or compatibility issues of third-party
hardware. Nor do we assist with the installation, configuration or
troubleshooting issues of third-party software applications. We are
available to assist in resolving technical issues with SONY supplied
hardware and software only. As such, SONY can not warrant nor guarantee the
usability, or functionality, of any third-party hardware or software
installed into our VAIO systems.
We recommend you contact your third-party manufacturer for all support and
troubleshooting on the correct installation, configuration and device
drivers required for their product(s). We are certain they will be happy to
help you.
Alternatively, you may contact the SONY Customer Information Services Center
for your available Pay-for-Support options. These services are provided at a
flat $19.95 per-incident fee. Although there is no guarantee of a
resolution, this will allow our SONY trained technicians to diagnose your
issue. We are available at 888-476-6972, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From
outside of the US and Canada, you may contact us at 239-768-7676.
NOTE: SONY does not make any warranty or representation with respect
