Compared to the Sony 16 inches display with 1600X1200, how are they
compared to each other. Ive seen this Sony screen and I thought that
its just stunning. The the A31p display as good or even better than
the Sony?

The T40 seems quite of expensive right now since its new. I may
upgrade to that after two years but for now, the a31p seems quite
attractive since the price has been slashed quite a bit for a little
more than a couple of grand.

I am just concerned about reliability. I had enough with cheap
consumer laptops of compaq, toshiba, and sony. My dell M50 though
reliable is just not build as sturdy as I expect a laptop with that
pricetag to be. I do not think it will last longer than I want it to.
So before, it breaks, I have to get rid of it before it starts giving
problems. For a workstation class laptop, I couldnt find any better
deal than the A31p. There's the Fujitsu Celsius H which is also being
discounted heavily right now, but I am unfamiliar with the
reliability. I never had an IBM so I do not know about its quality
although I read a lot about its legendary support.

The most important to me is screen and keyboard and reliability. In
that order. I touchtype so a mediocre keyboard is a no no and that is
one of the reason I am getting rid of the Dell M50. Its just not what
I expected from a workstation class laptop. If the screen is as good
as the Sony, I think I am getting lucky. I may have found the perfect
laptop in the guise of a31p.
