- redefining keyboard keys?
- Posted by Jeff Malka on September 2nd, 2003
I am sure I am not the only one unhappy with the way some keyboard keys are
rearranged on laptops compared to the standard locations on desktop
keyboards. I have a Toshiba laptop running XP Home and would like to
redefine some of the PageUp and Down keys, etc. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks.

Yes. If running WinXP/2000 or NT you can remap scancodes. Most people use
this feature to swap Windows keys, Ctrl and Alt (those coming from Apple as
me) or Caps Lock and Ctrl (those coming from Unix). It was a little
difficult since you had to tweak by hand one registry key. But I've just
found a nice GUI utility allowing total control of any key :

Enjoy ;-)
