- Replacing HD and fan on Vaio Z600TEK
- Posted by Caspar Clemens Mierau on October 10th, 2003
Hi there guys,
still loving my aged Vaio PCG-Z600TEK im thinking about tuning it a bit
as there just two things that annoy me:
1.) the fan and its noise
2.) the hd (noise/size)
I guess there is nothing to do about the fan as you cannot get one from
the local shop - right? And the normal Sony one would mean sending the
laptop in, getting ripped off financially and finally getting a
replacement fan thats not that quite as it should be.
But what about the hard disk? Can I use any normal laptop hard disk or
does Sony use special ones? I'd like a 60Gb 2.5" hard disk with noise
optimization - anything I have to care about there?
thanks in advance,
ccm.
