Windows xp pro on two desktops. All current and up to date.
KB939653 keeps wanting to install itself repeatedly(at every windows
update ), even though it is clearly already installed when viewed in the
Add/remove programs box, when viewed with "Show updates" ticked.

How can I prevent this minor annoyance. After extensive googling, I suspect
it's caused because there are apparently 2 versions of that update. The #'s
are the same, but the code contained is slightly different in each. I think
I have the first version installed, and my pc's are trying, forlornly to
install the second ;-(
Could I uninstall that update, then try a reinstall of the "newer" version?
