- Sony Vaio Miniplug for TV/AV output question...
- Posted by alain@nowhere.com on November 7th, 2003
I have a Sony Vaio GRT series notebook. There is a connection in the back which
Sony describes as an "AV out mini jack". Supposedly you can connect the laptop
directly to your tv. I've searced high & low for such a cable, but nothing
seems to work & one seems to know the specs of this "mini jack".
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I have a GRT715, is the connector your talking about the one with the yellow
band? the same size as a headphone socket>?

I believe so, I don't have the computer in front of me now, but it has an icon
of a tv screen and an arrow pointing into it.

It's probably the same plug used on DV camcorders and on some other
laptops (Toshiba uses it as well). You can get them for about $30 at
Radio Shack or Best Buy, or for about $10 here:

No guarantee, however, it could be a different cable.
