speaker problems on Dell Inspiron 6000
Posted by Citizen on July 27th, 2005

My month-old Inspiron 6000's speakers are very soft, for some reason.
They used to have normal volume, even better than many laptops, but a
few weeks ago the speakers became very soft. Even on full volume they
are somewhat quiet. What is the cause of this? When I use headphones,
the volume functions normally, so I assume it must be a speaker
hardware problem.

Did you try using the blue function key and the up arrow?
(I have an Inspiron 700m so I'm guessing a bit with your 6000)

The only thing I can offer now is give Dell Tech a call.
