I purchased a Toshiba Laptop (5005-s504) After endless bios problems,
poor performance a CD/DVD that quit working.....buisness presentations
chat randomly shutdown hybernation problems...ect I was forced to
spend an extra 150.00 for an extended warrenty to get advice on an
existing problem....Toshiba has a no replacement policy system wide
and will not ship a CD/DVD to me directly (which would be an easy fix)
and so once again ir goes to the shop. This is not a good solution
for those of us who use are machines with specialized software. I
will never buy any Toshiba product with a company policy of "no
replacement".........Fortunately there is a class action lawsuit
concerning my particular model.....why waste the money and bad public
relations......just take care of us who thought we were getting a good
laptop....The machine that is advertised as great graphic performance
has never been capable of playing DVD all other problems not
withstanding. Does anyone know thier COorperate Phone Number? (not
the usual 800 one)

I always recommend onsite with laptops. All name brands offer it and it's
fairly cheap.

I've had 4 toshiba's and never had any major problem with them including one
around that vintage (3005 1ghz machine).

Just got my laptop back form repair again and it still will not play
DVD movies. All of you who love Toshiba ought to be concerned!!!!!!!!
They cannot fix this problem in this model and will not satisfy thier
customers. Shame on Toshiba
