I have a Tecra 730CDT with a strange problem. Sometimes, but not always,
when you press the power button the ON led will come on but nothing else
happens. Normally the Caps Lock will flash and the system will start to
boot, but once it a while it will not. If you turn it on and off enough
times it will eventually start but it is very annoying. I thought it was
the disk drive but I swapped in a spare and it still does it. It is like
the motherboard is not getting power or something.
Any ideas ?

If the system is off then a quick touch of the on button will turn it on !

if the system is inhibernation you have to hold the button for a few
seconds.
