Toshiba P25-S507 or wait
Posted by trebor4258 on September 22nd, 2003

Laptop shopping and really like the 17" screens. It looks like the Toshiba
P25-507 is stable around $1800.

From everything I've been able to find on the Internet, this looks like a
good machine and for my purposes (desktop replacement vs. frequent mobility)
it seems great. I haven't seen an HP700x in a store and HP doesn't seem to
offer detailed specs on their web site. Also, doing a custom configuration
kicked out a price of about $2200 with delivery postponed until early
October. The pre-configed HP shows as being "out of stock" without a
delivery date shown.

Does anyone have any details of what's "coming soon" and an opinion
regarding whether jumping on the Toshiba or waiting a few weeks would be the
best course.

TIA-trebor

I am looking for the same, trebor, and have settled on the HP ZD7000.
It is not in stores yet becaue it just came out on Saturday. It is in
the Best Buy flyer this week, but still not in stock. PC Mag said it
is better then the P25 and right now there is not only a $100 rebate
on all configured HP laptops, but there is an addtl 10% off coupon for
a configured. Takes that $2200 bad boy to $1900...plus free shipping
for a loaded ZD7000.

Go check out the forum where tons of Q's are asked and answered:

Peace!
