Toshiba satellite 4000CDT HDD upgrade advice
Posted by Simon Wilson on November 22nd, 2003

I have a Toshiba satellite 4000CDT (Pentium 2 233MHz) with 160Mb Ram and a
6.1Gb HDD. I want to upgrade the latter to 20Gb but am not sure whether
this is possible. Could anyone inform me as to whether this model will
accept a hard drive of this size? Also, if it is possible, what would be
the best make and model to go for?

The current BIOS version is 7.60 - I've tried installing the latest version
(8.20 I think it is) but I keep getting the error "program too big to fit
into memory" - anyone know why??

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Simon

I've tried the Toshiba support website but couldn't find any info on these
issues.

I'm really stuck here - tried also searching in google but have been haven't
had any success.
