- Toshiba zero-fill utility
- Posted by shock on July 27th, 2003
Hi. I really need to know of a zero-fill utility that will work with a
Toshiba 40gig laptop hd. Toshiba doesnt seem have one anywhere that I
can find. I bought it for $50 off ebay (one of those "untested" deals)
and it seems to have problems (bad clusters). I want to try to zero
fill it and see if that fixes it. Its worked for me before many times
with my Maxtor and Quantum hds. If anyone knows of one that will work
please let me know.

Thanks. I finally gave in and used the Seagate util. Worked great but
didnt fix the problem. It didnt need a zero-fill at all. It seems that
it will only work right if it has multiple 8gig partitions. I made 5
8gig partitions and it works just great, but when I make a single
40gig partition it will only format 21% of the drive right and formats
the remaining 79% very quick, in under 1 min. Very strange. It must
have something to do with the bios i suppose.
