touchpad laptop toshiba hangs in vista
Posted by anenrbr@gmail.com on March 10th, 2007

recently bought a toshiba satellite L30-105, preloaded with vista home
basic :-(
every now and then, the touchpad just hangs, when i take it to the
shop... it works again, could have to do with:
- occasional work with external mouse (Trust)
- interrupting a file operation

anyone similar experiences? tnx for any help, it seems a very
difficult error to repeat, it just happens... :-((

You should be checking with Toshiba support for your model for any and
all updated drivers for Vista. The pad driver might be a work in
progress that has unresolved Vista problems, or it could be an entirely
different driver that is causing the pad problem.

Is Internet Explorer running at the time? Are you opening directories?

You didn't mention if anything else in your Toshiba works (or not) when the
touchpad "hangs." My Toshiba M35X started doing the same under WinXP, but
the entire machine stopped -- the screen froze, neither the touchpad nor the
keyboard had any influence & the network would disconnect from the Toshiba
in a couple of minutes. My problem was not merely a touchpad issue, but
that is where it started.

We are also having the same issue with a Dell Inspiron 1420 with Vista. Did
you find any answer to this?

thanks.
