Is it possible to do this manually or will it require a technical type
person to do it?

If I can do it myself, is it just a case of removing the HD module,
detaching the old HD and attaching the new one or is it more
complicated?

What type of HD would I need? Does size (physical) matter?

I need a bigger drive than 30GB.
