- Usb2 PCMCIA and External HD Power problem
- Posted by Wizzy on November 24th, 2003
Hi,
I've a Trust PCMCIA Usb2 on Debian GNU/Linux with 2.4.21 and
pcmcia-cs-3.2.4
When I plug in my external (10GB) 2.5" (usb2) HD to the pcmcia, the HD
not work... The power led is on, but with usbview i've seen that the card
seems to pass 0mA to the disk (instead of ~96mA)
I've also an external usb2 cdrw that works fine...
The problem is only with the external HD..
Help me please
Tnx,
Wizzy.

Hi Wizzy,
The cheapest fix is to buy a powered hub and plug the drive into the hub.
