I've just replaced the faulty hard drive in my Sony Vaio Z600-LEK (Z505 in
USA) but my laptop unfortunately died shortly afterwards.
I've replaced the Hitachi 15Gb 4200Gb drive with a Hitachi 40Gb 5400rpm
drive.
When I'd finished the upgrade, the laptop detected the new disc correctly
(reported as 40008Mb in the BIOS) and I installed Windows XP and started
my critical updates. When I came back to the laptop, it was off and
refused to turn back on again.
I've tried removing the additional memory it had, pressing the reset
button underneath and have checked the AC adapter is okay, but it still
won't turn on (no lights on at all).
Any ideas what might be up with it before I take it to a repair shop?
Thanks
James Greenstreet.
