Where to get hands on IBM Thinkpad before buying?
Posted by Matilda on July 14th, 2003

I'm looking to buy a laptop and one of the things that is most
important to me is the ergonomic comfort of the keyboard and the
viewscreen. So I'd like to try them out in a store before I figure
out which one to buy. I haven't been able to find a store that
carries IBM Thinkpads, although lots of stores carry Dell, Sony,
Toshiba, and Compaq, and Gateway has their own store. Is there
anywhere to try out an IBM Thinkpad in the Seattle, Washington area?
Or is online the only way to buy them?

Thanks,
Kathleen

IBM laptops are not sold in stores. Look in your trusty phone book (yellow pages) for
computer resellers (VARs) who carry IBM laptops and they might have a display model
or two. Otherwise it is pretty much an on-line only affair.

FWIW: Get any current A (A31) or T (T40) series laptop - IBM keyboards are best in
business and their screens (esp. FlexView) are also second to none.
