- 4 port capture board with 878 chip
- Posted by Jim Turner on March 6th, 2004
Hi Everyone,
I'm using Linux and need to find a 4 port video capture card for
surveillance. I understand that cards with the 878 chip are frequently
supported by the BTTV driver. Any recommendations for specific
brands/models that work very well with Linux? Any websites that might
be helpful?
I found a card from Kodicom, model KMC-4400R that's a 4 port card
capable of 120FPS. The write-ups do not mention Linux compatibility
and I have a call in to their tech support people. The cost is
significantly below other BT878 boards claiming compatibility with
Linux. Anybody have any specific experience with this brand or model?
I sure would appreciate hearing about your experience.
Jim
