Automatic fscks with JFS
Posted by Rohan Beckles on January 25th, 2004

Hello --

After a hard lock-up and subsequent reset, my ext3 partitions will automatically
recover the journal and clean the filesystem, during start-up. They are then
automatically mounted as normal.

However my JFS partitions do not exhibit this behaviour. They require
me to wait until the system has started up, then run "fsck -t jfs /dev/sda1"
for example, and then manually mount the filesystem.

I have downloaded the latest JFS tools, and copied them to /sbin. How do I get them
to be called automatically?

Thanks for any help,
