Hi,

I just installed SuSE 9.0. I wanted to try editing some DV movies but I've
run into trouble. I am not new to Linux but I am new to multimedia, in
particular video.

I am able to transfer video from the camera using dvgrab. I created a .avi
file which I am able to view using Kino. But when I try to use an editor
like MainActor or Broadcast 2000 I don't see anything. In fact even
playback using noatun or xine does not work. If it weren't for Kino I
wouldn't even believe I had been successful in downloading the content.

I am out of ideas. I installed the latest versions of dvgrab, libraw1394,
libavc1394 and libdv which allowed me to grab content from the camera
(Canon ZR60). I'm guessing here but I think I'm missing some codecs... but
I don't know which ones or how to install them.

Also, if there are other video editing packages that I should try let me
know.
