Install Problem - Boot Loader keeps getting in the way - Newbie in distress:)
Posted by Stiletto on November 17th, 2003

I am trying to install Red Hat Linux 9. I had a box with 8 on it and
decided to upgrade to 9. I screwed it up royally.

My friend told me to delete something and I stupidly deleted the /
directory. That had the bootloader in it. Now, when I try to
reinstall using the ISO images it pukes on the boot.

So, I installed FreeBSD thinking that I could install Linux 9 over
that.

Wrong again.....

So, What do I do now?

I can't format, I can't boot....argh....

Help

Thanks

happens when you try to boot a cd-rom? Have you set the BIOS to boot
from CD first?

You can go anywhere you want if you look serious and carry a clipboard.

I made a Red Hat boot disk and it worked fine. I just got stuck in
this GRUB prompt that wouldn't do anything.

Thanks
