The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding a meeting on:

Tuesday

The topic will be:

Digital Video and Linux
presented by: Doug Barbieri

This talk will cover various Open Source video tools used for
sampling video, editing, and burning a DVD using Linux:
'dvgrab' and 'dvcont' for sampling from a Firewire camera,
'kino' for editing video, 'mjpegtools' and 'ffmpeg' for
converting between formats and encodings,
'dvdauthor' for creating a DVD image, and finally,
'dvd+rw-tools', for burning to DVD+R/RW media.
Doug will also cover how to make a basic DVD menu.
