- Mixed case for Group names - removed functionality from red Hat?
- Posted by ekimjroberts on January 27th, 2004
Can anybody tell me if aloowing mixed case in group names is a
configurable option?
We have a server with red hat 6.2. This has been running some years
now, and we are looking at creating a copy environment on another
server.
In building this replicated environment which has red hat 9 we have
stumbled on an early problem.
When we try and add the group (which in 6.2 was mixed case
(DAVE_Master_one)) we get an error on an invalid mname of group.
Only when we create the group in all lower case is this a success.
Is it deliberate removed functionality or is it now a setting
somewhere that we can configure to allow mixed case.
