No Nautilus thunbs: IceWM problem?
Posted by Francesc0 on December 12th, 2003

Looking for a good (and not too heavy file manager for X11 I fond ROX, but
I really like a tree pane in a file manager and I miss it in ROX.
So I'm trying Nautilus. It is more resources hungry, but not as much as
many people say. I'm pretty happy with it. I have a couple of problems
though:

If I run Nautilus thumbnails are not created even if in preferences I
select to always do preview for all files. Instead if I run ROX-Filer it
creates preview for every image and movie. If I at this point run Nautilus
it displays thumbnails made by ROX, but only for files without spaces in
file name.
How can I have nautilus to make its native thumbnails?

If it can be useful I don't run nautilus in gnome, I run it with icewm
alone.

Another problem is when I try to shutdown IceWM: it will just do nothing
untill I kill Nautilus (and Nautilus desktop). IceWM behaves fine if I
have ROX and ROX desktop running.
Is Nautilus incompatible with IceWM?

Thanks.
Francesco.
