Haven't really found anything so I don't know if this is old news or what,
but I bought my first DVD-ROM drive (Pioneer 16x, model DVD-120) and the
back of the box under "Requirements" says:
Macrovision Compliant AGP graphics car (PCI may perform up to 30%
slower) with hardware overlay support.
Is this one of the new crippled pieces of hardware the movie industry
wants everyone to build? Are all DVD-ROM drives like this now? If this
is crippled hardware I don't want it and want to replace it with something
useful.
