when i open gaim, my wife, sitting next to me on her computer, sees
that i have come online. i try sending an instant message and she does
not receive it. i tried to im myself and nothing happened either. when
i check the buddy list every name, including my own, have an
exclamation point and the message "Not on server list". anyone know
what is the fix for this. thanks in advance.

I am having the same issue (contacts not on server list) with gaim
0.75 when the server is set to scs.yahoo.com, but when I change to
scs.msg.yahoo.com it takes a long time (60 seconds or more) to try to
log in, then reports "user account cancelled, cannot read"

This started about two weeks ago. Upgrading gaim has not helped. AOL
still works fine. Any help greatfully appreciated.

i just got a popup message from gaim that said i needed to upgrade my
yahoo messenger to the latest version. ok? so i will try that and see
if i am still able to use gaim instead of using yahoo messenger for my
yahoo contacts. that is what makes gaim so nice...one messenger for
almost all im accounts. sorry others are having the same problem, but
glad it is not solely on my machine. maybe someone that knows how to
upgrade gaim will read this and be able to make the changes. thanks.
