replaced functions file by mistake
Posted by Va David on July 15th, 2003

Dear linux expert,

By mistake, I have replaced the functions file of initscript in RedHat
Linux 7.2. Someday, when I rebooted the machine, it stopped at Run
level...

Please help me to recover to the original state.

Thanks,
David

You might also want to add the "--noscript" option so none of the scripts
are run.

Dear V. Turner,

I have followed your instructions:

- Replaced the functions file
- rpm -ivh --replacepkgs initscripts...rpm

but still it stopped at "Enter Run Level:" when booting. When I enter
run level number like 5 or 2, the message said: no more processes ...

Please help!

Thanks
