- UDF write in kernel 2.5 yet?
- Posted by Paul on November 17th, 2003
on my linux kernel 2.4.X box at home i am able to open UDF formatted
CDRW media as read-only for cd's that have been created by my windows
workstation at work using roxio directcd. (this program let's you use
cdrw media as a read write hard drive.)
i would like to read AND write to these cd's using my linux
workstation at home. I read a while back that UDF write support will
be enabled in kernel 2.5, and i am downloading the latest upgrade to
my favorite linux distro (www.knoppix.net) which has kernel 2.5
installed.
has anyone worked with this feature yet? any idea on how to get it
started?
thanks in advance,
peace out,

just because a feature is included doesn't mean it will work. I would
wait for the shiny new *2.6* kernel.

Thanks for the response. I have seen that site before. It is a
kernel patch for UDF writing. In the past I read this was going to be
built into kernel release 2.5 (yes I know its experimental). looking
to see if anyone is using or has tried this yet, or would have any
suggestions on how to get it working to try to test it.
