video capturing source code wanted.

I recently purchase a DVR card from ebay... cost only $50 plus s/h. The
problem is, it only come with softare run in Microsoft windows.

Is there anyway for me to compile or find a source code for it to run on
Linux? Run under the wine is out of the question.

Hard to tell, without any info, what does 'lspci' output,

Most likely probably its a BT848 or BT878 chip on the card.

If it is, then the kernel module 'bttv" is required, see the kernel Source
Documentation directory....

Then the app "mplayer" "mencoder" do a good job with this driver.

If you do get video4linux working with this card, then 'xawtv' is a tv/video
watching program.
