Ximian Evolution 1.4

I'm hoping someone can help me. I am using a RH 9 machine with
Evolution 1.4. I am trying to configure Evolution to use IMAP to
connect to a MS Exchange Server 2000.

I am able to send mail no problem, but am having trouble with the
authentication required to receive my mail. Evolution seems to want to
append my server hostname to the end of my user id as my domain,
causing the authentication to fail. For example, my domain is
<domain>.com so my email address is myusername@<domain>.com. The
hostname for our exchange server is <servername>.<domain>.com. I have
tried setting my send mail preferences to both NTLA and password
(basic?) but I get the same error everytime:

Unknown user or bad password...
Please enter the IMAP password for
myusername@<servername>.<domain>.com

I spoke with the email admin, and he has the default domain set to
<business>.com for both IMAP and HTTP in his MS Exchange admin
interface.

I guess the short version of my question is 'How can I set the domain
for my user account manually, or get Evolution to prompt me for it
upon login?'

BTW, I tried using myuserid@<domain>.com and <domain>.com\myuserid...
it still appends @<servername><domain>.com to the end of whatever I
enter for username.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I don't think the domain name needed by exchange is your
company's DNS domain name, but the Windows domain controller
name, say "myDomain". Then enter your name as "myDomain\myusername".
Contact your IT dept for the correct name.

I had this problem with Netscape too, and even MUAs on Windows.

Hope this helps!
