- Ximian Evolution

According to what I read at Ximian.com evolution-1.4 schould display
reminders for local appointments right after logging in.
But there is no process running which is associated with Evolution. I
only get reminders if I start Evolution at least once.
Is this the normal behaviour? Is there any process to put in your
..Xsession to get reminders?
BTW: Isn't there any comp.os.linux.software?

Don't know but there is an active evolution list (and archives):
