Wrong already. Apple is Microsoft's research arm. Get it straight.

and it will probably be left to Apple to make it affordable. That the
$20,000 Xerox Star did not change the world but the $2000 Mac did is
not really open for discussion, either factually or analytically.

Just about the only thing Apple has been shown behind the curve on was
PCI and AGP, and Apple has a partial excuse since it a) had a
serviceable alternative in the 16Mhz NuBus, and was transitioning from
68k to PPC in 1993.

Desktop publishing (1985), SCSI (1986), medium-res RGB monitors
(1987), USB (aka ADB 1987) , 1394a/b 1990-, 802.11a/b/g 1994- Apple
was first to market with the hands-down best solution.

Cheaper/faster/better -- Apple does a good job keeping the latter two
up, which allows it to price its solutions at what the market will
bear, as opposed to commodity boxes with zero differentialization
other than the location of the Intel Inside sticker.

This is of course the fact that drives your haunting of this ng,
Mayor.

Klyde, did you not take your reading meds today? There's NOTHING about
Apple in this article. Searching the site there is nothing about Apple
having new innovative products either.

It's about a new technology from the PARC, not Apple. While it might be
reasonable to think that Apple might adopt it, that's not whats being
discussed....

So what was your point in this post, anyway?
