- SiliconChip PIC prog problems.
- Posted by News Group on March 3rd, 2004
I had problems with this programmer not verifying 16F628 chips with the
icprog software. I solved it by selecting the "verify while programming"
option. Anyone else had this problem?
Mike.

You may have more luck with this on the Australian newsgroup
aus.electronics. The SiliconChip programmer (like the magazine that it's
named after) is AFAIK a peculiarly ANZ product, but there's quite a few
users out there.

icprog 1.5c fails to read a few chips properly, including the 16F84. I
don't know about the 16F628, but it could be another one.
It does seem to program the problem chips OK, just can't read them
back. icprog verison 1.5 (no letter) does not have the problem.

Rick.
