- Add remove windows components

when I go to add remove programs, and click on add remove windows components,
a windows components wizard runs, then tells me it has finished successfully,
closes, then still leaves the window closed as if i never clicked on the
button. how can I open it to add\remove a component?

That is a windows cleanup utilty. It is from Microsoft. You clean delete
programs from this utilty. As far as getiing access to add/remove programs, i
am not sure. Just thought i would send this. I hope it helps you

I just cleaned a pc with that exact same problem and it was due to some
spyware/malware app that after I ran a few cleaners it fixed it.
