- Administration login accounts do not show in login screen
- Posted by John P on April 1st, 2006
I really can't figure out how to get my administration account to show on my
login screen after I screwed around with the (control passwords2) command
using my run menu. All of my administration accounts have disappeared from
the logon screen and in left with only restricted accounts. Can someone
please explain how to get them back? I would be really thankful for any help!

Which version of OS are you using? Is it XP Professional? If it is
then try giving a three-finger-salute as follows:
CTRL+ALT+DEL
CTRL+ALT+DEL
This means when you start your system, before doing anything at the
WELCOME screen enter the above commands TWICE. This will give you the
opprtunity to type manually your ADMINSTRATOR username and password. If
there is any other name in the type box, just delete it.
If, however, you are using XP Home edition then you will need to start
the system in safe mode. You do this by pressing F8 function key when
the system starts but before windows is launched. I suggest keep
pressing F8 as soon as you start the machine until you get dos-type
screen. Then use up-arrow key to go to safe mode (it is the first item
on the list).

There is a simple task to do this.
Just read this article, which will 100% enable the Adminisrator Account at
startup.
http://www.petri.co.il/add_the_administrator's_account_to_the_welcome_scr een_in_xp_pro.htm
You can also download the utility at the same page to Enable the
Administrator Account, if the registry settings does not work.
