Posted by abasu on October 15th, 2005

Hi

I recetly installed Windows XP. After i finished installing i did the Online
update.
After the online update system ask to reboot. But after that it does not log
inn to windows xp it keeps getting restarted after the boot screen of windows
XP "logo screen"

Its not even login into the safe mode. It just keeps getting restarted
automatically. just after the windows XP logo screens comes.

FIrst time i thought maybe i did some mistake and it crashed but this is the
3rd time i have installed windows and did the online update. and as before it
the same problem.

What to do ?

Regards
A Basu

Don't install driver updates from the windows update site. Get those
from the device manufacturer's web site or from the computer OEM if a
major one like Dell or HP.

Use the custom install option from the update site. Install only the
critical updates first. Install a few at a time and run the system in
between to see if everything is ok. If one of those is a problem remove
it by using Add/Remove programs or using system restore.
